Guide for immunization for your Baby

Healthcare is the most critical sector of the economy that needs to be effective in comparison to the rising demands and incidence of diseases. Having said so Immunization is one such health achievement. It is a process whereby a person is made immune or resistant to any disease, by the administration of a vaccine. In that process, vaccines tend to stimulate the body’s own immune system to protect the person against that particular disease. Making an immunization decision can be extremely critical for every parent since there are no effective alternatives to it.
Here is a simple guide to immunization to provide effective guidance:
Benefits of immunization :
Vaccinations protect your child from having diseases for which there are often no medical treatments. Prolonged illness can take a financial toll because of lost time at work, expenses of tests, diagnosis, and medical bills, in comparison, getting vaccinated against these diseases is a good investment which is usually covered by insurance. Another reason is that vaccines have been effective enough in eliminating many diseases that killed or severely disabled generations.
 Vaccination schedule
Vaccination should be mandatorily provided to all infants up to 36 months. The timing and doses differ considering the different diseases. Tuberculosis is a bacterial disease, which can be countered by the BCG Vaccine.  OPV related to polio must be given to all children at birth. Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus vaccine is given as an intramuscular vaccine to infants when they are 1.5 months, 2.5 months and 3.5 months old. One dose of monovalent Measles vaccination should be given after 9 months with repeated dose at 12-15 months of the age. Some additional diseases that need to be vaccinated are rotavirus, pneumonia, and others.
Precautions to be taken
Before immunization, inform your doctor if your child has had any significant reactions in response to any vaccination dose. Ensure checking the expiry date of the vaccine that is given to your baby. Research shows that expired or outdated vaccine can cause serious problems for your baby. Do not hesitate to consult your doctor before vaccination to figure out any adverse symptoms.

Some important facts
A child can be given more than one vaccine at a time. Scientific results show that giving several vaccines at the same time has no negative effect on a child’s immune system.

Vaccines are extremely safe options for the healthy development of your child. The licensed vaccine in the market is rigorously tested in multiple phases of trials before it is given the approval for use. They are regularly monitored which makes it safe and conducive.

It is best to follow the ideal immunization schedule but a slight delay is not risky.
Immunization can save your money and out of pocket expenditure. It ensures the healthy passing of genetic inheritance. Every parent wants to protect his or her child from the diseases and there can be no other best gift than timely immunization.
